Mynd-Myst Mountains

The Mountains seem to be rather gloomy against the cold, hard night time. The land even appears sad at night. As fast as you can, you begin your walk up the mountain path. You find that it is poorly carved, and that the path winds around the mountain ruthlessly. You begin to get tired.

You sit down up a rock to rest for a while. You look up at the sky and find that the stars are blotted out by the clouds that hang over head. You shake your head clear and hope that you aren't becoming sleepy. Your eyes close...and you drift off to sleep.

"Wake up!" you hear as a young girl shakes you vigorously. "Yes, you, silly wanderor! I can't believe you fell asleep up here. What a place! What a place! Don't you know that the predators come out at night and often pass through this very mountain?"

You snap awake at the word predators. You gasp and stand, shaking the sleepiness from your eyes. "Really?" you ask.

"No, not really." She smiles. "I was just trying to get you awake. You should't sleep out here, you could fall off the mountain."

"Well what are you doing here, then?" you ask.

"Oh, me?" she says. "I am Gyana. I am here to help wanderors, like you, who manage to find this place. I suppose you deserve it...falling asleep out here, I mean. Everyone needs a rest."

"No, really, why are you out here?" You ask again.

"All right, all right. I am trying to make a home for a Fyrin, a wonderful creature. If it is a male, I might name it Hivakei, and I might name it Zyan if it is a female..." Her voice trails off in wonder.

The clouds have past and you can now make out almost ever star in the sky. She see that you are looking up and she smiles. "That's the other reason I am out here, I love to star gaze."

Turning towards her, you nod. "You better go now, you don't want to fall asleep again, wanderor."

Over to the Tykae Plains.
Back to the Wonderous Wood.
