You begin down the split path to see what lies ahead. As you continue, you find that the trees overhead are entined thickly and block off the sun. You reach a fork and find a small gryphon lying in your path. She stands up and looks you over, perhaps wondering whether or not to allow you to pass.

"I am Belgirak," she says. "If you'd like, you may explore this part of the Wood. I will warn you, however, that this part of the Wood is very strange. While it may seem a bit over whelming, it is nothing like that which the Lead Path shall bring you to."

She pauses to stretch out. "You see, wanderor, this part of the Wood is much like that of the Lead Path. However, this section, while feeling the wrath of Fri-on, has been forever protected. You can not find him here."

Before you can ask, the gryphon hops away, leaving you to your own thoughts.
