About the Artwork:
The sophistication of the column and window frame draw the eye to the simplicity of the nightscape outside, where only stars and trees can be seen. The dragon's scales and wing markings reflect the nightscape sky, and, almost catlike, the dragon of the night is curled up and ready for sleep. Notice the two dragon statues on the columns holding up symbols of the sun and moon.
About the Artist:
Meredith Dillman earned her BFA degree in Illustration from Minnesota State University. She works and lives in Minnesota, USA, where she creates woodland creatures and fantasy-themed landscapes. She paints primarily in watercolor, and her art has been published in various books and journals.
