About the Artwork:
First coat of this painting completed on 11 August 2009. The final coat added scales and implemented a simplified glazing technique. One of the features of the painting involved using as little water as possible; in this case, the result is that the paint pigmentation appears to be straight from the tube.
Originally titled "The Chinese Dragon as Master of the Elements." The title was changed to "Chinese Dragon with the Dragon Pearl" post-concept sketch phase.
This piece is artist's first completed acrylic painting.
